Overview
TowerSnap is a casual mobile and web game at TowerSnap.com. This policy explains what TowerSnap handles and why. We collect as little as possible, and we only describe services that are actually part of the game today.
Playing as a guest
TowerSnap does not require an account. As a guest you are never asked for a name, email, phone number or location, and no profile of you is created. You can play the full game, build towers, unlock cosmetics and send challenges without signing in.
Account data
Creating an account is optional and exists only to protect your progress. An account stores your email address and a securely hashed password, handled by the Base44 authentication service — TowerSnap never sees or stores your password itself. We do not ask for your real name, address, birthday or payment details.
Game and progression data
Your high score, coins, unlocked and equipped cosmetics, statistics (games played, blocks stacked, total SNAPs, highest SNAP streak, daily challenge progress) and your sound, music and haptic settings make up your progression. This data describes your play, not who you are.
Cloud saves
If you sign in, your progression is backed up to your account so it can be restored on another device or after clearing your browser or app data. Signed-in progress is stored on the Base44 platform infrastructure. When a device and a backup differ, the newer legitimate progress is kept and lifetime records are never reduced. To stop using cloud saves, sign out; to remove them, delete your account as described below.
Challenge links
When you challenge a friend, TowerSnap stores a challenge record containing a random public code, the score to beat, your best SNAP streak in that run. It also stores simple counters (how many times a link was opened, started, completed or won). Each counter is tied to a short-lived session reference that the server issues when a link is opened — it identifies the visit, not the visitor, and nothing about you or your device goes into it; TowerSnap keeps no device identifier for challenges. No name, email or account id is ever included in a challenge link or a challenge record. Anyone who opens your link can see the score and streak you are challenging them with. To keep those counters honest and protect the public links from automated abuse, each counter also carries a short one-way hash of the network address the request came from — the address itself is never stored, and that hash is used for nothing but rate limiting. Challenge links stop working 30 days after they are created, and expired challenge records are cleaned up.
Analytics
TowerSnap uses the Base44 platform's built-in, anonymous in-game analytics to understand how the game is played and improve it — for example games started and ended, runs replayed, scores reached, new high scores, SNAPs triggered, SNAP streak depths, session starts and ends, daily challenge starts and completions, cosmetics unlocked and equipped, and the steps of the challenge funnel (created, link opened, started, completed, won). These events carry gameplay numbers and short labels only; they never include names, emails, account ids or tokens, and TowerSnap does not use third-party analytics providers.
Advertising
TowerSnap does not currently display any advertising, in the app or on the website. The website is prepared to support Google AdSense later: if advertising is enabled, it will appear only on the marketing and legal pages (never on the /play game page, over gameplay, or next to game controls), ad scripts will load only after you make a clear consent choice in the consent banner, and this section will be updated to describe the advertising partner, the cookies and device identifiers it uses, and your personalized and non-personalized advertising choices. Native mobile advertising (such as Google AdMob) is not implemented in this build; if it is introduced in the released mobile apps, advertising identifiers and consent choices will be described here before it goes live.
Purchases
TowerSnap does not currently sell anything, and no purchase is possible in this build. If optional purchases — such as Remove Ads or cosmetic packs — are introduced in the released mobile apps, they will be processed by the platform store the app was installed from (Apple App Store or Google Play), which handles payment details; TowerSnap would receive only the entitlement status needed to unlock what you bought, and entitlements would be verified with the store rather than trusted from the app. Cosmetic content never affects gameplay.
Cookies and local storage
TowerSnap uses your browser or device local storage to keep your progress, settings and anonymous device reference on your device so you can play offline and pick up where you left off. TowerSnap sets no advertising cookies at this time. If advertising is introduced, advertising cookies would only be set after you give consent, and you can withdraw consent or clear local storage at any time.
Third-party services
TowerSnap runs on the Base44 platform, which provides hosting, authentication, database storage and the analytics described above, and may process technical server logs as part of delivering and securing the game. Sharing a score uses your own device share sheet, so the app you choose there receives the text and link you send. No other third-party services are integrated into TowerSnap at this time.
Children's privacy
TowerSnap is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. Playing as a guest requires no personal information at all. An account requires only an email address, so we ask that children do not create accounts without a parent or guardian. If features that collect more data are introduced, this section will be updated and we will comply with applicable children's privacy laws.
Data retention
Local game data stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall. Challenge records are anonymous counters kept so links keep working; they contain no personal data, stop working 30 days after they are created, and are cleaned up after that. Account data and cloud saves are kept for as long as your account exists, and are removed when you delete your account. Technical server logs are retained by the Base44 platform for a limited period for security and operations.
Your rights and account deletion
You can play without giving us anything, and you can delete everything you have given us. Signed-in players can delete their account from Settings → Account → Delete account inside the game; deletion removes your account, your cloud save and any stored progression, and it cannot be undone. Guests can erase local data by clearing local storage or uninstalling the app. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data through the Support page at TowerSnap.com/support. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, and we will honour lawful requests.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy as TowerSnap evolves, and the "Last updated" date above always reflects the most recent change. Continued use of TowerSnap after a change means you accept the updated policy.
